Why Studio Blue Rocks
We Use a ‘Shot List’
No, not the kind you line up on the bar – we know you’re a classy chica. What we mean is that we will ask you in advance which can’t-miss events and people you want captured at the wedding. On the big day, we will then make sure that your priority red-carpet moments and VIPs go down in history. Combined with a large selection of photojournalistic candids, it all adds up to some pretty spectacular wedding coverage. Quite frankly, we are amazed that other photographers debunk the shot list under the name of creative freedom. There’s nothing worse than getting the photos back and realizing the photographer missed your dance with Dad.

We Know the Locations
We have shot thousands of locations and know how to maximize the assets of every type of venue. There are also many site-specific details and potential complications to consider. For example, religious ceremony locations may have restrictions on where photographers are allowed to shoot. It’s important to know the rules. And if you know them ahead of time, you can cut right to finding the ideal spots from which to capture the ceremony.
Additionally, lighting conditions vary greatly between churches, reception halls and tents, as well as by season and time of day. Capturing the most beautiful shots possible requires knowing how to take full advantage of every kind of light.
Finally, having a photographer with an eye for angles and backdrops is key. Group photos and portraits get museum-worthy treatment with a blooming garden, ocean view or cityscape in the background. You don’t want a photographer who’s going to line you up along a white wall for a family portrait.

We Are Prepared
Sounds like a no-brainer, right? You’d be surprised. And that’s the difference between pro and amateur. We always carry two cameras, spare batteries and extra memory cards, in case of emergency. We back up the photo file immediately and create duplicate copies, so your wedding story is safe with us.
We Use Only the Best Technology
We shoot with Canon and Nikon cameras. We utilize multiple lenses, including wide-angle and long-range, to best capture every moment.
All files are hosted using Amazon S3. If you don’t know what that is, don’t worry. It just means your photos are super-safe.
We Pay Attention to the Details
All that time you spent agonizing over shoes, centerpieces and place settings really paid off. Wouldn’t you like to remember them in all their glorious detail? Details are what make your day interesting and unique to you. We’ll make sure to capture all the fruits of your TLC, as well as the little moments in the day that make your wedding truly memorable.

We Have Perspective
Unless you’re a square and only exist in two dimensions, you’ll want your photographer to get crafty with angles and bring more dimension to your photos. With an unskilled photographer, you risk stiff, American Gothic-style wedding shots. Our photographers are talented at getting the best angle on every moment, whether that means getting down low or shooting from overhead. Varying the angles and perspectives of your photos makes for visual interest and a beautifully dynamic wedding album.

We Have Fun
Work, schmerk. We love our jobs. Weddings are fun. We enjoy both practicing our photographic artistry and participating in the joyful flow of the day. And we believe that going with the flow is the best way to create natural wedding photography, so that your unique personality shines through. We try to bring a relaxed attitude to the task, so that guests and photo subjects also stay relaxed. That way, we’re able to capture the reality of the day, rather than a stack of stiff posed portraits.
The best wedding photography captures the color, motion and all-out joy of a wedding day. Studio Blue’s photographers use their photojournalistic skills to create a full picture of your day that will last forever.
