Frequently Asked Questions
Bella Pictures is a full-service wedding photography business, offering a multi-faceted, highly customizable experience. But we’ve found that while some clients love our photojournalistic photography style, they prefer a less complex approach to obtaining it. So, we got out our scalpels, and presto! Studio Blue. Both brands offer the highest quality photography and service, but Studio Blue relies a bit more heavily on the internet to bring you beautiful images of your day.
Studio Blue is built a simple premise: great photography requires great photographers.
Our mission over at Bella Pictures is to create beautiful wedding memories for as many brides as possible. We realize that every bride is different, however – so, while the photographers are the same, we’ve created a wider range of options with Studio Blue.
First, we hire extremely talented photographers and pay them to do what they do best – take beautiful pictures. Next, we create a user-friendly web-based system that supports the photographers and eliminates such expenses as studio fees and marketing costs. Finally, we bundle in flexible on-line options for brides. In the end, you get great photography, custom capabilities, unbeatable prices, and a comprehensive experience much greater than the sum of its parts. Smart, eh?
Well, a physical space adds a lot overhead and has little to do with the quality of the photography. If you hire a photographer who owns a studio, you are paying for their rent and receptionist (and a lot of strangers in gilded frames). Our on-line Studio Blue studio is rent-free.
Our internet tools are super easy to use and allow you to see everything that you would in an actual studio, including your photographer’s portfolio and all of your photos. Plus, you can do it all at the kitchen table!
We will select a photographer for you based on the logistics of your day. Your photographer will later call you to check in and discuss any details.
If we may humbly say so, our photographers are the best. We screen thousands of photographers every year and are very selective – only 1 out of 10 that we interview is hired to work with us. All photographers are screened for:
Creative skills – capturing the emotions of the day in a creative, artistic way
Technical skills – mastery of our state-of-the-art digital cameras and equipment
Professional skills – professionalism, flexibility, and unobtrusive documentation of your wedding day
We demand that our photographers consistently meet our highest standards. We fully review every wedding they shoot and ask for clients’ detailed feedback on their experience.
Excellent question (you’re good!). This is one of the biggest concerns with a single photographer. But we are familiar with the unforeseen, and we are prepared. Bella and Studio Blue always assign back-up photographers, so we can guarantee that a highly skilled photographer will be covering your wedding day, come what may.
When you go to a fabulous restaurant you don’t ask to meet the chef, do you? In all seriousness, we do the in-person screening for you, which allows us to keep our prices affordable. You will review your photographer’s portfolio and talk with them on the phone, so you will know exactly what to expect. Rather than running around to meetings, we allow our photographers to focus on what they do best, which is beautifully capturing the unique, emotional story of your wedding day.
Studio Blue now offers video services. Our videos integrate still images from the photography with the video from the filmmaker. The hand-editing process produces a fabulous product, but is time-consuming and a bit more expensive than our photography services. If are interested in a wedding-day video, please contact us at 888-556-7510.
Befitting a once-in-a-lifetime event, we use state-of-the-art printing equipment and the highest quality archival paper to create our heirloom-quality prints. We want the beauty and clarity of your images and your memories to last forever. You will retain full rights to your digital negatives, so that you can make any additional less-expensive prints that you wish.
